RadioU's Localization

"Live and local" is the cry of radio managers and consultants everywhere it seems. We agree, actually. On the other hand, we've all heard examples of live, local radio done badly. The only way a format designed for discerning 12-24 listeners can work is if it's authentic and well-executed.

When it comes to the programming, RadioU invented the wheel. True, you could spend your time and money re-creating what we already do, but we'd like to suggest that you invest your operating budget into promotions and marketing for your new format instead of trying to reinvent the programming wheel!

 Larger than life, but local

RadioU is branded as a national radio format, with a major market, "larger than life" image that will appeal to your listeners. While our listeners have grown up with MTV, iPods, and Internet radio, one of the primary strengths of FM and HD Radio™ is the ability to be "local." Your station's direct connection to your local community is handled seamlessly through network-triggered local avails several times each hour. Your avails can contain local image sweepers and stopset material that can include your own promos, commercial time, weather & traffic, or whatever you want to say to your own audience!

You'll be interested to know that RadioU has carefully avoided the "mirror call" approach often employed by other network formats. We've all heard the choppy, automated sound that results from live network DJs attempting to interact with pre-recorded versions of themselves ID-ing each of their affiliates. Instead, our network triggers your automation software six times an hour; once for a local stopset and five times for shorter local avails throughout each hour.

RadioU's format has been designed for both commercial and non-commercial stations. Your inventory is your own -- we won't force you to carry network commercials in exchange for the programming. And, RadioU is available to your station fulltime or part time... for one hour or 24.

The RadioU network clock includes great options for localization, with stopsets and local avails each hour, but you'll still be playing more music than just about any other station in town!

You'll be playing more music than virtually any station in your market, while staying completely connected with your own community.

With the exception of The R!OT morning show and certain specialty programming, we use the same basic clock and local avail structure for nearly every hour of programming on RadioU.
